With the SilverFast scan software you get a much better scan software and a significant increase in the image quality. When scanning negatives and slides the image quality is rather bad using the Canon own scan software and the scanner is very slow. The scanner provides a very good image quality when scanning documents and is very fast. In the cover plate there is a transparency unit integrated, so that the scanner is suitable both for scanning documents and for digitizing slides and negatives. The Canon CanoScan 9000f Mark II is the top model of Canon flatbed scanners. Also, run the x32 (not 圆4) version of VueScan with these drivers. This scanner is supported on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and later if you first install the Canon drivers for Mac OS X 10.6 or later (these will work on newer versions of Mac OS X).
On Windows 圆4, you need to use VueScan 圆4 to use this scanner's transparency adapter.
